:

more ordered life as a Catholic woman,

14

:

and I brought in the two

founders of Soleil Atelier.

15

:

They created the Soleil Weekly Planner,

16

:

Which is a Catholic planner so these

women that you could say are experts on

17

:

learning to organize your life, plan your

life integrating healthy habits into your

18

:

life to make sure that you're living a

balanced life, a really integrated As

19

:

someone who lives a busy life herself

and wears a lot of hats, it's always

20

:

helpful for me to learn from other women.

21

:

What's working for them?

22

:

What are systems they're implementing?

23

:

What are tips and tricks that they're

doing in their home to make sure

everybody's needs are met in the family?

25

:

So I hope this episode is helpful

for you to kind of hear us all.

26

:

Three, reflect on our own lives and

the different things that we have

27

:

done to try and stay more organized.

28

:

It's really practical episodes.

29

:

You're gonna walk away with

things that you can implement

30

:

into your life this week.

31

:

Let's get into it.

32

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Welcome

back to Ever Bee Podcast, everybody.

33

:

It's me, your host, Mari Wagner,

and today I am accompanied by some

34

:

lovely ladies, Carolyn and Mariana.

35

:

Welcome you guys.

36

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Thanks so much for having us.

37

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752: us.

38

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Can you tell us a little bit about

39

:

who you are and what Soleil is?

40

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Sure.

41

:

, mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

So Hi.

42

:

I am Mariana.

43

:

, I'm a mother of two, a wife.

44

:

And, , I studied engineering and, , did

a lot with kind of general management,

45

:

but there got to a point in my career

where I was kind of missing the product

46

:

design and, um, a lot of layers of

responsibilities were being added to my

47

:

plate once I got married and had kids.

48

:

, So.

49

:

Yeah, we really needed kind of a way to

get organized and I also wanted to kinda

50

:

start my own thing and design a product.

51

:

So that was a little bit of

the beginning of and the idea.

52

:

, I'll let Caroline kind

of tell the full story.

53

:

She's really good at that.

54

:

But Sole has been really fun to now

do in parallel with my full-time job.

55

:

And I live in the Chicagoland

area, um, near family as well.

56

:

So it's been really fun to kind of

work on Soleil and, being with my

57

:

husband and kids, so that's great.

58

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Awesome.

59

:

So I have a background in education and

then from there I've worked with leading

60

:

nonprofits, um, with different boards,

women of vision, one in fashion and so on.

61

:

Throughout my whole kind of young,

professional career, I kept hearing this

62

:

idea of work-life balance and Mariana

and I were friends at the time and

63

:

so obviously we're striving for this

like golden mean of work-life balance.

64

:

We kept seeing with all of these kind

of opportunities that we were being

65

:

given, whether it was volunteering,

working, cultivating deep friendships,

66

:

growing professionally and personally

ourselves, um, that this idea of

67

:

balance was really hard to maintain.

68

:

And so we said, how, how do you manage

this and become somebody who's successful

69

:

both later on we both became mothers.

70

:

Um, so we're wives, moms, business

owners, and so on, but in a way that's

71

:

very, um, thoughtful and we came up

with this or didn't really come up

72

:

with it, but came to the realization

that it's living this integrated life.

73

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

74

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

for us, that meant that we had to have

75

:

these big ideals and goals, but also a

way for holding ourselves accountable.

76

:

And so within that too, we wanted

to have a deep spiritual life, um,

77

:

as well as this professional life to

be able to show up for our friends,

78

:

for our family members and so on.

79

:

And so within that, our first

product that we kind of landed

80

:

on was coming up with a planner.

81

:

And we had also realized during this kind

of transitional period, as you're coming

82

:

out of college, you're working a new job.

83

:

I ended up moving to another country,

and so starting my family out there, um.

84

:

That with all of the moving pieces, it's

really easy to have these kind of big

85

:

goals and dreams, but the accountability

piece is really hard to maintain.

86

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

87

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

that, we're all on our screens

88

:

and our attentions being

pulled in different aspects.

89

:

And so having something where we're

pausing and actually writing things

90

:

down for us, we realized was really key.

91

:

Not only for our spiritual life, but

also for ourselves as professionals,

92

:

as friends, as mothers, and so on.

93

:

We landed on coming up with a planner,

but we wanted something too that

94

:

was, um, this integrated piece.

95

:

So it was minimalistic, it could go from

the various places that we were occupying.

96

:

So from boardrooms to the coffee hour,

cocktail hour to the chapel, and kind of

97

:

travel seamlessly in between those spaces.

98

:

, While at the same time helping

us, the individual user live

99

:

in the presence of God better.

100

:

And so within that, we integrated

pieces of the Holy Father's monthly

101

:

intention, um, the liturgical calendar

and examination of conscience.

102

:

Then spaces for us to really

grow as professionals.

103

:

And so within it, we partnered, um,

with Kevin Majors from Optimal Work.

104

:

And so, um, he's both a professor

at Harvard and has his own practice

105

:

and he came up with optimal work.

106

:

So this kind of idea of how do we

strive, for our highest good, like.

107

:

Do we know our highest good

and are we striving for?

108

:

And so for anybody who's Catholic,

for us, obviously it's sanctity.

109

:

And so it as a natural fit, , in

seeing how does the brain work and

110

:

what is the neuroscience behind what's

happening in my brain and how I'm

111

:

tackling these challenges at hand

to help me really achieve this high

112

:

level of professional excellence.

113

:

And so from there, sole was born.

114

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

That is beautiful.

115

:

Thank you for sharing that

116

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah,

117

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

and the heart behind it all.

118

:

I think some words that really

resonated with me are balance

119

:

and integration, obviously,

120

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah.

121

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

I think it's so true.

122

:

We hear work-life balance,

work-life balance all the time, and.

123

:

It's so hard to achieve and like

what is balance really and what does

124

:

it look like in different seasons?

125

:

And having the grace and understanding

with ourselves that that balance like

126

:

can look different in different seasons.

127

:

But what I love that you said is that

like true balance is about integration.

128

:

It's not about like compartmentalizing

different parts of your life or

129

:

ignoring parts of your life and just

like tunnel of vision in on one.

130

:

It's really about

integration of all of that.

131

:

And so I'm excited to get into the

conversation today and talk about that.

132

:

What does that integration look like?

133

:

What does it actually mean to

live an ordered life as a Catholic

134

:

woman and some practicals?

135

:

I'm all about the practicals and I

know you guys have such great advice

136

:

to share for women to walk away with.

137

:

Um, 'cause I think this is one of

those topics where we can like,

138

:

hear a lot about it and walk away

and be like, but how do I do it?

139

:

Like, help me.

140

:

So hopefully we'll get into

some practicals today too.

141

:

But let's jump into our

ever be moments first.

142

:

So this is a space where we can

share how God's working in our life.

143

:

Do you guys have any recent

ever be moments you wanna share?

144

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Sure.

145

:

So one of mine is, um, we had

scheduled this trip back to visit

146

:

family, uh, months in advance.

147

:

And then we found out, um, my littlest

the youngest niece, so number, I think 11

148

:

now, um, or maybe number 10 was just four.

149

:

And so we were just in

time for the baptism.

150

:

So we had a great family reunion

and I was so grateful, um, because

151

:

living in another country, it's easy

to miss those special family moments.

152

:

So that was really a gift from God.

153

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

That's so beautiful.

154

:

Where are you living?

155

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

So I'm in Honduras.

156

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Oh, nice.

157

:

That's awesome.

158

:

Over there.

159

:

That's so cool.

160

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Thanks.

161

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

And for me on my end.

162

:

So I recently moved into a home

literally like two weeks ago, so

163

:

there's a lot of transition going on.

164

:

Um, but as we're thinking of filling

the space, doing a lot of Facebook

165

:

marketplace shopping, things like

that, finding things in thrift stores.

166

:

But, , the other day when we were kind

of at a garage sale, actually a family

167

:

friend as well, John was picking up,

my husband was picking up some things

168

:

from there, uh, that we had ordered some

furniture and I was doing something else.

169

:

With the kids.

170

:

And , originally I was just

planning on going back home, but

171

:

I kind of felt like, oh, should I

go and see if John needs any help?

172

:

Although I, he probably is fine

and I could go home, but figured I

173

:

might as well stop by and say hi.

174

:

. And when I got there, literally it

was just as he was pulling out and

175

:

I was going in and he kind of stops

me and he's like, wait, wait, wait.

176

:

No, bring the kids in.

177

:

Bring the kids in.

178

:

Because um, this family friend, um, the

her mother that lives there is on the

179

:

older side and she just really wanted

to see the kids and he kind of had

180

:

said, oh, we can come back another day.

181

:

For sure.

182

:

And I really think it was the Holy Spirit

prompted me to go, 'cause I, I really

183

:

wasn't gonna help him move the furniture.

184

:

But, um, getting some time to just

spend with her to slow down in the

185

:

midst of a chaotic errands kind of day.

186

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Hmm.

187

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

and for her to see the kids and

188

:

seeing the joy it brought to her.

189

:

. And at her age with just like what she

can and can't remember and the story

190

:

she was still telling, even though

some things are are fa, she has a

191

:

lot of like, really solid memories,

especially with my husband's family.

192

:

And so it was just such a special time,

, that I really didn't need to be there for,

193

:

but then I was prompted to and it landed

in that really beautiful experience.

194

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Oh, that is so beautiful.

195

:

I love that.

196

:

Thank you for sharing.

197

:

I think for me, my ever be moment is, so

just recently while we were in Mexico, we.

198

:

Went to mass one day and I really

wanted to go to adoration and I hadn't

199

:

really had the time or ability to find

a chapel nearby 'cause my husband had

200

:

the car while he was at school and.

201

:

We walked into this church like on the

backside, like there's a very obvious

202

:

beautiful front courtyard, but we like

somehow missed it and ended up at like

203

:

the random back door and we opened the

back door and as we walked in there's this

204

:

gorgeous big wooden door and there's a

little like printed sign that says, uh,

205

:

perpetual adoration through this door.

206

:

And I was like, oh my gosh.

207

:

And so I like go and push

open the door and I walk in

208

:

and I kid you not, it is the.

209

:

Biggest monstrous I've ever

seen in my entire life.

210

:

I mean, the host was

like bigger than my head.

211

:

Like it was like

212

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Oh my gosh.

213

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

massive, like huge.

214

:

And so the gold around it was stunning.

215

:

It was so big.

216

:

And we just got to spend some moments

in prayer in the chapel there.

217

:

And it was just like, oh Jesus.

218

:

Like you heard my heart.

219

:

Like thank you for being here

and, and leading me to the

220

:

back door 'cause we would've

absolutely missed it and not known.

221

:

And we got to go back another time.

222

:

Um, to go, uh, see the Lord there.

223

:

So that was just a beautiful, yeah, just

a beautiful little Hi, God, God moment.

224

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

That's awesome.

225

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Okay,

well let's dive into our conversation

226

:

today, and I think a good way to kick it

off is just kind of setting the groundwork

227

:

of what does it actually mean to live

an ordered life as a Catholic woman.

228

:

What would you guys say to that?

229

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: I

think, um, in a sense it's easy for us to

230

:

see order and it's a human virtue, right?

231

:

, But as a Catholic, it's so different.

232

:

I don't know if you've heard

of, um, transformation Christ

233

:

by Dietrich von Hildebrand, but

hands down recommend this book.

234

:

It's phenomenal.

235

:

And he talks about how we have like

the val or the virtues on a human

236

:

level of charity of order and so on.

237

:

But on a Catholic level, it's divinized

and it calls on all of your faculties.

238

:

And so living order could just be having

things in their place at the right time

239

:

and so on, in the Catholic level, which

I'm glad you added that to the question.

240

:

It's doing the good that I ought to

be doing when I should be doing it.

241

:

And for whom I should be doing it.

242

:

And so in there, I'm calling at my

will, my intellect, and not only

243

:

for whom, but because I want to.

244

:

And so that's like the greatest reason,

all because I'm doing it out of love.

245

:

And so of washing the dishes, because

it's a responsible thing to do and I'm not

246

:

leaving a mess for the person behind me.

247

:

I'm doing it out of love for them.

248

:

I'm doing it to serve God.

249

:

And then it takes on this

echo and eternity basically.

250

:

And so it could help us.

251

:

I think a good question for myself

is having this like rectification, so

252

:

asking like, where's my heart during

the day, in those quiet moments.

253

:

And so when I do have a little downtime,

um, or space, what am I reaching for?

254

:

What am I looking for?

255

:

And this could be a good

like examination of.

256

:

Being like, okay, my heart's

in that Facebook marketplace.

257

:

I just wanna find the best deal.

258

:

Or, um, my heart's actually

in like resting our Lord.

259

:

And that really gives us not only order,

but brings the peace that comes with

260

:

that supernatural virtue of order.

261

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

That's beautiful.

262

:

Yeah, no, I love that.

263

:

And one thing that comes to mind too,

that I've heard in the past is it,

264

:

it basically is what you said, right?

265

:

It's like the rightly

ordered things, put it.

266

:

Can you say that amazing quote again?

267

:

What was that quote?

268

:

It was like, do the thing you ought to do

269

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

when you ought to do it and for whom

270

:

you

271

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

and for who do.

272

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

like out of love.

273

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yes.

274

:

And one way that I've heard it being

put is in regards to our vocation and

275

:

the responsibilities that come with

our vocation and how first, the rightly

276

:

ordered way of things is first our

vocation as a beloved son or daughter

277

:

of God and our relationship with God.

278

:

And then it's to our spouse or, um, if

you're religious right, that would just

279

:

be like your, your spouse, your bride.

280

:

Well, you're the bride of Christ, right?

281

:

And then it's your children

and then it's your work.

282

:

And so doing the things you

ought to do in that order, right?

283

:

To whom it's, um, for, I think it's a

beautiful way to put it, but essentially

284

:

what I had heard just kind of said in a

different way, um, which is beautiful and.

285

:

I think honestly, really

hard to actually do.

286

:

I think it's very much easier said

than done and, and sounds very obvious.

287

:

Of course, we put God first.

288

:

Of course.

289

:

We put our spouse first, of

course, then we put our children.

290

:

But in practice, in the day to day,

I see the challenge every day of,

291

:

okay, I have to actually work and

strive to go to put God before my

292

:

to-do list today, or I see the way.

293

:

You know, my sisters and friends strive

to, okay, I'm gonna put my husband before

294

:

the needs of my children right now.

295

:

And so, would love to just kind

of hear some of your thoughts on

296

:

that and your experience with that.

297

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752: Yeah.

298

:

I

299

:

think just reacting to what you're

saying, Mari and me being a very,

300

:

like type a organized kind of person,

301

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yes.

302

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

think the order of priorities, you

303

:

also think that means like amount of

time dedicated to those things or, , us

304

:

being human also, whatever's right in

front of us and what we're spending

305

:

time on can be where our mind is.

306

:

And so, um, that is where, where

I think the challenge can be.

307

:

'cause if.

308

:

For example, when you have

young kids and they need a lot

309

:

of your time and attention.

310

:

And for me, if I'm like also

working, then it's okay.

311

:

Is that me putting my

husband below my kids?

312

:

But no, it's also just kind

of what Carolyn was saying of

313

:

where your heart's at and the

intention behind what you're doing.

314

:

Um, because in everything we do, we can

be in conversation with God or, um, doing

315

:

it for him or offering things up to him.

316

:

And so that kind of puts him first, even

if we're not like in a chapel, you know?

317

:

Um, and same with my

husband, making sure we have.

318

:

Time every day that we're being

on the same page or the date

319

:

night a week or whatever it might

320

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

321

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

each other first.

322

:

But that love then outpours to our kids

and to others so it doesn't stop them.

323

:

Um, so I think that to me can be,

the hard part is it's not about

324

:

like how much time I'm dedicating.

325

:

It's

326

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yes.

327

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

like the intention behind it.

328

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Beautifully said.

329

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

you said with that, Mariana.

330

:

I think the other thing, like

within Mariana's thing is the like

331

:

desire, and maybe it's just me, but

like the desire to like perform.

332

:

And so

333

:

the,

334

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

335

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

more easy to have order in the things

336

:

that are external that people see like,

oh, my house is like perfectly clean.

337

:

Like my work that gets seen by like the

outside world is great, but my like kid

338

:

is running around with a runny nose and I

haven't stopped to like, take care of 'em.

339

:

And so seeing, am I doing it like

perfunctionary, like the exterior

340

:

ones or am I really taking care of,

like Mariana said, that like order

341

:

of love too, like within my heart,

um, is it there so that I'm not just.

342

:

for others, but really like the

core pieces, um, are missing.

343

:

And I'm looking for that like praise.

344

:

I think especially being, um, a home, like

being, having part of like our vocation

345

:

is when being like homemakers, um.

346

:

It's easy to be like, well,

nobody's gonna like say you

347

:

did great on doing the laundry.

348

:

Like the dishes

349

:

look

350

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Right.

351

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

We don't have that like acylation.

352

:

Um, but at the same time that if I'm doing

that with love, like that can be on the

353

:

same level of this like crazy big report

that I just gave to our board members.

354

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

355

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

if I do with more love the dishes,

356

:

that's more valuable, like in

357

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Hmm.

358

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

terms.

359

:

So

360

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Beautifully said.

361

:

Yeah.

362

:

So why do you guys think that so

many women today feel overwhelmed

363

:

or scattered in their daily lives?

364

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

I think a lot of it is, and maybe not

365

:

everyone feels this, but for the ones that

are doing a lot, . That pressure to kind

366

:

of do it all and us just being women in

the way God designed us naturally is that

367

:

we think about all those things at once.

368

:

It's, it's a lot harder compared

to, to men to kind of focus on one

369

:

thing at a time and do one task at

a time and then move on to the next.

370

:

We feel that weight in all

of our responsibilities and,

371

:

, wanting to really care for.

372

:

everyone equally.

373

:

And this pressure to kind of do

it all, , makes it overwhelming on

374

:

how to organize that, especially

when mentally you're thinking

375

:

about that all throughout the day.

376

:

Um, so that's, at least for me, that

definitely something that I struggle with.

377

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

378

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

I think like as a follow on to

379

:

Mariana's, like from that, the frenetic

pace for me, I realize it's when I

380

:

don't take time for like silence.

381

:

Like then I get, everything is coming

at me all at once because like in

382

:

silence, when I'm alone with God,

I see myself like as I really am

383

:

and I can be like, Hey, I'm a mess.

384

:

Like I need help figuring this all out.

385

:

Um, and I'm able to step back and

see like what's actually important

386

:

versus like what's immediate.

387

:

And I think when we don't pause.

388

:

Everything that's immediate is coming

at us and we realize like the important

389

:

things are slipping away, but it's because

we haven't been able to put that order.

390

:

Um.

391

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm.

392

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: And

also I think within that then it's easy

393

:

to create like our own crosses instead

of being like, this is what our Lord

394

:

wants me to focus on and we can be kind

of focused on something else and being

395

:

like, I just wanted it to be this way.

396

:

And he is like, it's

not that big of a deal.

397

:

Like that's not actually where I

want your heart to be focused on.

398

:

Um, and it's humbling too because

we realize that sometimes we need

399

:

to ask for, like, help from others

or that we're not leaning on that

400

:

grace, um, that's available to us.

401

:

And we come to these like task

doers and back to the first one,

402

:

like performers instead of like

really intentional with our time.

403

:

And from there then we're able to

like really be aware of and serve

404

:

the needs of the others around us.

405

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Absolutely.

406

:

Yeah.

407

:

And I think too, like as women, you guys

were saying it perfectly, we hold so much.

408

:

The more I get older, it's honestly

incredible and shocking how much

409

:

we can hold at the same time.

410

:

I, I can't even imagine what

it's like when you start to

411

:

add children into the mix.

412

:

You're holding so much and.

413

:

As women, we also feel so much

about everything we're holding.

414

:

It's like we have emotions in general,

and then we have emotions on our emotions

415

:

on everything that we are holding.

416

:

And so now we're not just holding

what needs to be done, but we're

417

:

also holding how we feel about

everything that needs to be done.

418

:

And I don't know about you guys,

but I know for me a struggle is.

419

:

Then I get really hard on myself and

then it's like, well, like I should

420

:

have, I should have done it this

way, or I should have made time here.

421

:

Or if I, if I had only reordered things

in a different way or if, or I had

422

:

gotten up earlier, or if I did this,

then like, then everything would be

423

:

more or ordered or more organized.

424

:

Right?

425

:

And we start to put it all in ourselves.

426

:

Um, so I love your advice of taking

time to reflect with the Lord and give

427

:

him all that and let him kind of like

unwind just that whole spaghetti mess.

428

:

That we have in ourselves and kind of

pull out like the things that are truly

429

:

important that he wants us to focus on.

430

:

And it could be that all the things

that we are holding are good.

431

:

They could all be good things, but even

then the Lord doesn't want us to do

432

:

all the good things at the same time.

433

:

Right.

434

:

And so.

435

:

Yeah, like taking that time with the

Lord or for me to honestly like, I don't

436

:

know about you guys, but my husband is

just like such an anchor in my life to

437

:

like de-stress me and also kind of take

that spaghetti brain and just kind of

438

:

organize it all into straight lines again.

439

:

I'm like, oh wow.

440

:

When I sit down and I just like

spill everything in my head.

441

:

He's like, he is able to see it

all and kind of help me organize

442

:

it and I'm like, okay, great.

443

:

Wow.

444

:

Like we're so complimentary, like this

is so good, like you can help me kind

445

:

of move forward and see things clearly.

446

:

So just some of that time for reflection

with the Lord or maybe with your husband

447

:

or something I think is really helpful.

448

:

I.

449

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Totally.

450

:

I remember one time someone recommended as

like an active mortification of like, if

451

:

I had a time to like leave the house, that

I left the house and did nothing else.

452

:

'cause I feel like sometimes we're walking

outta the house and we're like, oh, I, I

453

:

wanted to grab that thing and put it away.

454

:

Like, oh, I also need to grab my notebook.

455

:

If I'm going out, I should

also do this return.

456

:

And by the end, we're like Al

Woman trying to do it all at once.

457

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yes.

458

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Just having that, like I'm

459

:

leaving the house and that's it.

460

:

Like that piece that like, I'm focused

on the one task that I was like, wow,

461

:

that's such a, like concrete, but like

thoughtful way of like, I'm present, like

462

:

this is what I'm focused on and like the

rest, I'll figure out time later to get

463

:

it done, but like, I need to be on time

for this thing and so I'm gonna go for it.

464

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

That's really good advice.

465

:

I am definitely gonna walk

away with that because I think.

466

:

We so often can fall into like

thinking it's almost virtuous of

467

:

like getting everything done, right?

468

:

Like being the one that

thought of everything.

469

:

And so then taking every second

an opportunity we can to multitask

470

:

to get, to check as much off.

471

:

But then like, how does that

leave us feeling inside?

472

:

I don't know about you guys.

473

:

I never check off everything on my list.

474

:

And the more I check off, the more

I add, like the more things come up.

475

:

So it like doesn't actually

leave me feeling super peaceful.

476

:

Could it be more virtuous to know

like, this is the one thing that I'm

477

:

dedicating my time and energy to, and

that's what I'm gonna do and I'm gonna

478

:

do it well, and I'm not gonna let

myself be like burdened by other things.

479

:

That's, that's definitely

something to think about.

480

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah, and being human.

481

:

I think having those different

spaces is so important.

482

:

Like you do need to get out

483

:

of the

484

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

485

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

not have the visual clutter, or even

486

:

if it's within the home, like having a

room, you can go through whatever it is.

487

:

But, . , God knows we're human

and like having those separate

488

:

places for things is so important.

489

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Yeah, totally.

490

:

So more practically, what are

steps that you guys take to plan

491

:

your day or maybe your week?

492

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

I think this looks really different

493

:

depending on what season we're in.

494

:

So I think you're

catching us at a very like

495

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah.

496

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752: time

with both of our oldest being very young.

497

:

Um, and we're new moms.

498

:

But, for me, on my end, I do work, I

have a full-time job, but I'm also on

499

:

maternity leave for my second right now.

500

:

So.

501

:

Each year has been like maternity

leave and work look very different.

502

:

Um, but I think the common thread is.

503

:

Finding time to kind of think through,

um, what are my priorities for the week?

504

:

So, um, in, when we designed our planner,

we have the top three to, because it is

505

:

good to just like have a concrete number.

506

:

Um, like you said, Mara, you

can always add to the list.

507

:

So like, what are the

top three priorities?

508

:

Um, but also just like what does, what

needs to happen throughout the week, um,

509

:

in terms of like physical activities or

what people who, who needs me that week?

510

:

Um, thinking through that.

511

:

Um, and then, and of course like

along with that is the essentials

512

:

of where prayer is gonna go.

513

:

So like, when am I gonna go to daily mass?

514

:

Or things like that.

515

:

, But then after that it's like,

where are the other little like

516

:

chores or tasks or projects.

517

:

It's gonna fit in.

518

:

, And that's like discerning what I

can actually handle that week and

519

:

like how much free time I really

have while still having time

520

:

for, for people and relationships

and, , and fun activities as well.

521

:

Uh, so during maternity leaves, a

lot of that's like during my, the

522

:

kids' nap times and things like that.

523

:

And then when I'm working, it's

oftentimes, . Beginning of my work

524

:

day on a Monday is like the week,

and then at the end of the workday I

525

:

like to reflect on how the day went,

like what I wanna get done tomorrow

526

:

and how I could be better tomorrow.

527

:

So like having that

daily reflection as well.

528

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Beautiful.

529

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

I think find is similar, but I think,

530

:

um, for me, even before starting Solei,

a planner was like kind of terrifying

531

:

for me because it's such a form of like

accountability and then you see like, ugh,

532

:

like I didn't follow through with that.

533

:

Or like, Hmm, I miss that.

534

:

Or that day's just totally blank.

535

:

I do see it as something that I

need, like something physical,

536

:

tangible that I can take away.

537

:

And again, it's kind of, I

actually added to my prayer time.

538

:

So I start off my morning, um, with

my planner and so I, we set it up

539

:

actually how, like my brain works in

the sense of, um, I put down my top

540

:

three for the week in the beginning.

541

:

And so I think it's kind of

anti this Okta mom idea that

542

:

like, I'm gonna get it all done.

543

:

Like what are the three things

that at the end of the week

544

:

if I haven't accomplished it.

545

:

has to change.

546

:

And so those are things also that I'll

like discuss with my husband as well to

547

:

be like, this is my goal for the week.

548

:

Like, I need your support

in getting this done.

549

:

So my top three, um, that I get it done.

550

:

And then the other is like thinking

about what are the big things that

551

:

I really wanna be present for?

552

:

Whether, um, it's a friend who has a job

interview that I wanna follow up with, um,

553

:

whether it's a birthday, whether um, we

have a meeting with a client, whatever.

554

:

So what are those things that I really

need to like set aside time for?

555

:

Um, and make sure that I have other

pieces in place so I can be at peace

556

:

with it, that I'm arriving on time,

that everything feels like good to go.

557

:

Um, and then once I have those kind of

big blocks in the spaces, I also, um.

558

:

Kind of think of the way, how does

this work with my like, plan of life.

559

:

And so for me that means I'm going to

like daily morning mass, um, and to

560

:

setting aside daily time for prayer.

561

:

And so that means waking up a little

bit early before my toddler wakes up.

562

:

So there's like some silent time in

prayer with nobody kind of calling

563

:

on my attention or needing me.

564

:

Um, that I'm able to have

like a cup of coffee.

565

:

I'm able to like, look out a window

into some like beautiful nature scene.

566

:

And then on the flip side, it also

means that I'm setting a bedtime.

567

:

And I think that's something

that as an adult and as a wife,

568

:

mother, so on, it's really hard

to like maintain a bedtime because

569

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

570

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

waking up on time.

571

:

Like I need to be around for other people.

572

:

But really bedtime is like for myself.

573

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

574

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: but

I think that's so helpful because it's a

575

:

way of like resting and charging in the

end, like that's making you available

576

:

for others and being able to serve, um.

577

:

At the same time.

578

:

And so I think having those two,

like time block is really important.

579

:

, And then also just like looking at one

of the times that I'm gonna set up for

580

:

cleaning, one of the times that I'm

gonna, um, be with friends, because

581

:

for me, that's also like a recharge.

582

:

Um, where am I gonna put date night?

583

:

, But really at the end of week, having

written those things down, then

584

:

I'm able to look back and reflect

and be like, okay, this went well.

585

:

This didn't go well.

586

:

How can I improve?

587

:

'cause obviously we're works in

progress and some weeks will be

588

:

great, others will be kind of messy.

589

:

And that's just how it is.

590

:

And that growing space, um, is huge.

591

:

And then as I mentioned before,

like of this like self-knowledge

592

:

piece also is like a way of

working as a team with my husband.

593

:

And so looking over with him and being

like, yeah, like that didn't go great

594

:

or like, that was such a fun plan.

595

:

Like we should do that more often,

um, is kind of how I go about it.

596

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

I love that.

597

:

I love, especially what you were saying

about taking note of the things you wanna

598

:

be present for just in your personal life.

599

:

I think that's so important.

600

:

And for women who feel like they have

a busy life, especially women who are

601

:

juggling both a professional life, a

home life, being a mother, a wife, that's

602

:

so much to juggle and I think it could

be really easy to drown in that and.

603

:

Kind of just become unaware of

anything that's outside of the

604

:

four walls of your home, right?

605

:

And you driving to work and back.

606

:

But I think it's so important to be

intentional in your relationships, um,

607

:

outside of your home and your work,

because those friendships, that community

608

:

is so valuable and so filling for you,

for your cup, for your wellbeing as well.

609

:

And so I love that.

610

:

'cause I think a lot of the times we

have those good intentions, but they're

611

:

just floating thoughts in our brain.

612

:

Like, oh, it's my friend's

birthday on Thursday.

613

:

Or like, oh, my friend just had a baby.

614

:

Like I wanted to make her a meal.

615

:

Or This person just came home

from the hospital or whatever.

616

:

And it floats in our brain.

617

:

And then sometimes the time passes we're

like, oh shoot, I wanted to do that.

618

:

And the intention was there, but you,

you didn't follow through with that.

619

:

Good.

620

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Right.

621

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Just act of love.

622

:

So even just taking that extra step

to write it down and to make note

623

:

of that at the beginning of the

week, I think is beautiful advice.

624

:

Also , . Like I've heard people have

like marriage meetings or weekly

625

:

meetings or something and they

626

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752: Yeah.

627

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

things over with their husbands and

628

:

you both have a space to be like,

this is what should happen this week.

629

:

This is what I really want.

630

:

How can we support each

other to get it done?

631

:

I love kind of that team mentality.

632

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Mm-hmm.

633

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

And I

634

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

635

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

that, the other thing that's helped for

636

:

like showing up, like you were saying that

it's so good to have those friendships

637

:

is also like stacking the things.

638

:

So you're reflecting back on the

week and you're like, man, I wish

639

:

I had gotten groceries earlier,

or I wasn't able to make masks.

640

:

But then.

641

:

Connecting it with something like, wow,

I haven't seen this friend in a while.

642

:

Maybe I can invite her

643

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

644

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

then we go to the park afterwards with

645

:

our kids, or I have to get groceries.

646

:

And this other friend of mine has been

like, I've been dying to make this recipe.

647

:

And so we go grocery shopping together,

we make that recipe, but kind of

648

:

putting two good things together that I

649

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

650

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: I

wanna accomplish, but making it something

651

:

that's like joyful and more life giving

than like, oh gosh, grocery shopping, like

652

:

another Costco trip kind of thing.

653

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

654

:

No, I love that too.

655

:

And just a couple things I feel

like that have helped me a lot is

656

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah,

657

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: a day of

the week where I'm like looking ahead to

658

:

the next week and making note of things.

659

:

And I think for me, meals are a big

thing that are just like a make it

660

:

or break it for my day or my week.

661

:

And so on Sundays I usually

take time to meal plan.

662

:

We don't really do meal prepping,

but I meal plan for the week and um,

663

:

some people might think it's crazy.

664

:

I'm like, I plan my breakfast, lunch,

and dinner for the entire week basically,

665

:

and I have it all written down a little

notepad and then I make the grocery

666

:

list based off of all those recipes

and I buy those exact ingredients.

667

:

So I know I'm using exactly what I bought

from the grocery store and it, for me,

668

:

it just takes away that decision fatigue,

which I feel like, especially women

669

:

who is working and maybe has children.

670

:

There's so many decisions you have to

make during the day and not a lot of time

671

:

if you have to be at a job at 9:00 AM.

672

:

And so even just knowing like, okay, this

is what I'm having today for breakfast.

673

:

I know I already have those ingredients.

674

:

I can do that.

675

:

I maybe you packed your lunch the

night before, but then you already

676

:

know what's getting done for dinner.

677

:

Um, and even having it written down.

678

:

And I write down where I

got the recipe from too.

679

:

So I have this little notepad.

680

:

I'll just.

681

:

I'll link it in the show notes,

but I'll be like, okay, like

682

:

protein, blueberry pancakes.

683

:

And then I'll, I'll just in parentheses

put like IG recipe and I'll know,

684

:

oh, I saved it on my Instagram.

685

:

Or it'll be like, you know, chicken

Piccata from half Baked Harvest

686

:

cookbook number two, and I'm like, okay.

687

:

It's from because I'm like, I

have so many cookbooks and so

688

:

many things saved on my Pinterest.

689

:

I'm like, I don't even

know where that recipe is.

690

:

But then it's also really helpful for

my husband because if there's an evening

691

:

where maybe I'm hosting Bible study and I

didn't get time to plan and so I have to

692

:

plan right before Bible study and I didn't

have time to make dinner, he can go and

693

:

it, it's a weight lifted off of me to.

694

:

Be like, okay, this is what we're

making and this is what you gotta do.

695

:

But he, he knows he can go to the little

meal chart and be like, oh, okay, it's

696

:

chicken piccata from half baked Harvest

book number two, I'm gonna go make dinner.

697

:

And he's empowered to go make dinner

that night and it's, it's great.

698

:

So that's just my little tip there is

that when your meals are planned, decision

699

:

fatigue is taken away and you know you

have the ingredients and you're well

700

:

fed all week, which is so important.

701

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

I totally agree.

702

:

Something that we actually started doing,

which was like, kind of crazy, but um,

703

:

when my like new, when my little one came,

I was like, I'm not gonna have any time.

704

:

And so I ended up making like triple

the recipe, which is like, okay,

705

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Wow.

706

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

So you have it basically for dinner

707

:

or

708

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

709

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

you have, you'll have the

710

:

next day as leftovers.

711

:

But I would freeze a part of it

if it was a freezable meal, and

712

:

then I could just unfreeze it.

713

:

So in the seasons where I know things are

gonna be crazy, I'll make a healthy meal

714

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

715

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

and freeze a section of it.

716

:

So don't even use it as leftovers,

just have it later to pull out of

717

:

your freezer and be like, this is an

amazing meal from half bake harvest that

718

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

719

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

and put on rice.

720

:

But like so simple and

such, like a sense of peace.

721

:

my family something

healthy, but also it's gonna

722

:

take

723

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

724

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

15 minutes to like do

725

:

it

726

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

So awesome.

727

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

that was huge.

728

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

It's a great idea.

729

:

Okay, so for the busy woman juggling work,

home relationships, where should she start

730

:

when trying to get her life in order?

731

:

What's the first thing you

recommend that she should focus on?

732

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

So ideally

733

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: I.

734

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

like prayer and reflection, right?

735

:

Like turning back, slowing down

silence and talking to our Lord.

736

:

Um, but one thing when I was

thinking about this question is that.

737

:

some of the basics need to be in

place first to actually give myself

738

:

like the mental clarity and peace

to, to properly like, deeply pray.

739

:

Um, so whether that's making the time

to go to a chapel or, um, cleaning

740

:

up an area of the house so that

I'm not distracted by the clutter.

741

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

742

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

that was big for me.

743

:

But like, just slowing down, I like to

do kind of like a little mini retreat or

744

:

spending some time to, to truly reflect

and think through all the pieces slowly

745

:

and in conversation with our Lord.

746

:

'cause.

747

:

The day to day things can get really busy.

748

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

And I think like towards Mariana's Point,

749

:

Pope Francis talks so much about the

importance of a dreaming like these big

750

:

ideals for our future, for our children.

751

:

And I think that's something so key in

terms of like living an ordered life,

752

:

like and juggling Dee's responsibilities.

753

:

Like what do I want out of this?

754

:

Like what does God want for me?

755

:

Where am I going?

756

:

Um, so having these like

high ideals I think is huge.

757

:

And personally for me, that means,

um, I'll do an annual retreat like

758

:

in silence for three days, which

is crazy, but it's so beautiful

759

:

because I think really like, until.

760

:

For me at least, it takes like the first

day I'm getting used to the silence.

761

:

The second day you're

like really immersed in.

762

:

By the third day I'm

like, this is amazing.

763

:

Like, I'm coming up with all

these resolutions, I'm having

764

:

more clarity for things.

765

:

Um, but really just that like time

away to refuel I think is so important.

766

:

Um, and just like, I don't

know, gives a little like hint

767

:

to like, where is my heart?

768

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Hmm.

769

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

And so with like this juggling, we

770

:

can ask like, where does God want me?

771

:

And I, I remember this story hearing

him being like, he is a beast.

772

:

But JP two at one point had this like huge

meeting with various leaders of states

773

:

and his secretary couldn't find him.

774

:

And so he went running around the Vatican

and he's like, he's probably in the

775

:

chapel because that's always where he is.

776

:

And he comes in the chapel and

the Holy Father is praying there

777

:

and he is like, holy Father, like

this appointment, it's a big deal.

778

:

Like, we gotta go.

779

:

He is like, I'll come like, don't worry.

780

:

Like I'll be there.

781

:

Comes back like it's a half hour later.

782

:

He's like, no.

783

:

Like it already started.

784

:

Like, we gotta get you there.

785

:

This is so important.

786

:

Precisely because it's important.

787

:

I need to finish this time of prayer.

788

:

And I was like, wow.

789

:

Like how many times am I like, okay,

God, like you here, like my work,

790

:

I need to focus on this right now.

791

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

792

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

so kind of having those like dreams,

793

:

like I wanna be a saint, so like

what does that actually mean?

794

:

, And so for me, even having.

795

:

At the beginning of the year, I'll come up

with like four kind of guiding goalposts.

796

:

So my spiritual life, , my interpersonal

life, my family life, and like growing

797

:

in culturally, professionally, and so on.

798

:

And so the within that then breaking it

down each month being like in the most.

799

:

Smallest minute NUS detail,

like, how can I live this better?

800

:

So if I'm growing in order, can

be waking up with my alarm clock

801

:

the first month, month, it's just

putting my shoes on, as they say.

802

:

There's like brain signs behind it.

803

:

You get totally dressed, put your

shoes on, and your brain's like, all

804

:

right, we're ready to go for the day.

805

:

, But coming up with those little

kind of tricks to help me keep

806

:

moving towards this, , virtuous

path of growing in whatever virtue

807

:

I'm focused on or whatever goal I'm

focused on, then being like, okay.

808

:

Where do I need to ask for help or

adjust my schedule so that I really am

809

:

living with what's most important and not

falling into like what is most immediate,

810

:

then I think frequent confession.

811

:

I mean, that's been my like equalizer

and just like bringing everything back to

812

:

the basis, because obviously we're gonna

fail many times, but most important is

813

:

to get back up more quickly each time.

814

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

And with

815

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: I love.

816

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Just like one little thing to add there

817

:

is

818

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Yeah.

819

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

realize also the importance of

820

:

the daily reflection when like

821

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: Mm.

822

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

to these

823

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah.

824

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

of reflection or bigger times of reset,

825

:

or I need to get everything in order.

826

:

It's not really fruitful if I haven't

actually taken time at the end of

827

:

every day to see how things are

828

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah, true.

829

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

come to confession and.

830

:

friend's like question, oh,

they're the priests available.

831

:

You can go in.

832

:

And I'm like, ah.

833

:

Like, wait, hold on.

834

:

I need to reflect for a second.

835

:

Like,

836

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Who am I?

837

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Exactly.

838

:

, , So just having that time in my daily

schedule, I'm, I'm always working on this,

839

:

but really having the time there every

day so that when it comes time to those

840

:

bigger reflections or things are getting

really chaotic, I have spent those smaller

841

:

moments with our Lord thinking through

like how I'm doing, , to know like what

842

:

needs to change or what I need to work on.

843

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Beautiful.

844

:

Yeah.

845

:

Were you gonna say something, Caroline?

846

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah, I was just thinking one of the

847

:

things I think sometimes, like you

were saying before, Mari, how we can

848

:

be like hard on ourselves as women.

849

:

One of the questions that I've just,

and if this is helpful for people

850

:

that I've started to add to my like

exam, is how have I like let or

851

:

seen like our Lord loving me today?

852

:

And I think it's such a helpful thing

'cause we can get into the chaos of like.

853

:

How am I doing?

854

:

Like am I being a saint?

855

:

Like how is my virtue?

856

:

Blah, blah, blah.

857

:

And then instead of just being

like, he just wants to love me,

858

:

and like, am I letting that happen?

859

:

Am I recognizing like those small

moments or am I so caught up in like

860

:

what I think it should be like that

I haven't like given him space or

861

:

time to like just be there for me?

862

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Hmm.

863

:

Yeah.

864

:

What I was gonna say is I just, I love

that little anecdote about Pope Francis

865

:

and we can, we can all learn from

that so much because how many times

866

:

I know I have, have, we looked at our

schedule and thrown mass or prayer or

867

:

confession or whatever out the window

and been like, God, God, you get it.

868

:

It's such a busy day.

869

:

Like you,

870

:

you know, like, you know better than

anybody, like what I have on my.

871

:

Day.

872

:

Like you understand?

873

:

And I just like see him being like,

precisely like, I understand what you

874

:

have on your plate today, so come see

me so we can do this together so you

875

:

can have the grace to get it done.

876

:

Like let me help you.

877

:

Um.

878

:

And it just reminds me so much also

of the Surrender Novena, and I've

879

:

probably said this so many times

on a podcast, so hopefully I'm not

880

:

boring people, but it's just so good.

881

:

There's a line in Surrender Novena.

882

:

I think it's literally day one or

something where it says like you,

883

:

like letting God be in control is.

884

:

Like you have to actually like

let go of worry and let him do it.

885

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: Hmm.

886

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: And so

often what we do is we're like a little

887

:

kid trying to open a really tight jar

and say like, mom, can you help me?

888

:

And then she reaches to help you.

889

:

And then you're like,

wait, let me try again.

890

:

Like, wait, no, I got it.

891

:

And so it's just like, we're always

like, we have so much on our plate.

892

:

God help me.

893

:

But like, later, later, like, you can

help me later, I, I gotta go do it.

894

:

And so this is just a good reminder

of like, in the times when we feel

895

:

the busiest, when we feel the most

stressed, when we feel the most

896

:

overwhelmed, those are the most important

times to make time for the Lord.

897

:

Even, even 2, 3, 4, 5 minutes.

898

:

And the piece we will feel from

that makes all the difference.

899

:

It truly does.

900

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

And I think like asking ourselves, like

901

:

in those times, where are we going?

902

:

Like are we finding like

rest in social media?

903

:

And if so, like how can we.

904

:

that or trim it down or like ask for

help to kind of focus our like energies

905

:

and like receive like true rest

906

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

907

:

Absolutely.

908

:

So kind of going along this, like

when life does get really busy

909

:

or when you feel like you're out

of routine, how do you reset?

910

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752: For

911

:

me,

912

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Um.

913

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Um, blessed Ro had an amazing quote that

914

:

he used to like pray to our Lord, and

it was similar to Pope Francis also had

915

:

a similar one, but it was, thank you.

916

:

Give me, help me more.

917

:

And I think when things are crazy.

918

:

That's like on repeat, that's just

my aspiration in the background.

919

:

Like, thank you, forgive me, help me more.

920

:

Like I'm trying, I'm failing,

but I'm still trying again.

921

:

And when I, like when I really

need to, um, AKA every week.

922

:

This was something also, I remember,

um, I think it was my mom that taught

923

:

me this, but she said the Holy Father

goes to confession once a week.

924

:

Like he's focused on like

the universal church.

925

:

He is Christ on Earth and us.

926

:

And I'm like, ah, yeah, I need it too.

927

:

So that's been something that I've been

working on and it's been super helpful.

928

:

Um, I would say when I fall out of

this like routine, because really

929

:

it is like in the grand scheme

of things, like am I striving for

930

:

sanctity in the like big picture?

931

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

932

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

then that trickles on into the little day

933

:

to day of what do I make most important?

934

:

Where is my time being spent?

935

:

How am I showing up for

others, for our Lord and so on.

936

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Beautiful.

937

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752: And

for me also that time of getting out of

938

:

routine sometimes is a, a sign for me

that I need to like rethink things too.

939

:

So instead of just really quickly

rushing back to figure out how

940

:

can I get this routine to work,

it's like, why is it not working?

941

:

And thinking through that.

942

:

So.

943

:

Ma, you mentioned this earlier,

but I totally relate to just like,

944

:

sometimes that's the time when I

would go to my husband or just like

945

:

kind of brain dump everything and

he helps like straighten things out

946

:

or, um, just like taking those two

pieces separate, like of first getting

947

:

it all down, clearing my head like I.

948

:

Brain dumping, and then maybe it's

the next day even, or, or taking

949

:

some time to, to reflect on it for

a bit before I go back and think,

950

:

okay, does something need to change?

951

:

Or how should the priorities go?

952

:

Um, and like, how can then I

establish a new routine if necessary?

953

:

Because often it's, it's getting out

of hand because there's something

954

:

off, or I'm doing too much.

955

:

So.

956

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752: Mm-hmm.

957

:

Yeah.

958

:

Yeah, I relate to that too.

959

:

And I think when I'm in those seasons

is when I realize and when I'm actually

960

:

able to be so honest with myself.

961

:

I'm like, yeah, I'm doing too much.

962

:

Like I think very often I hold

a lot and I don't admit to

963

:

myself that I'm doing too much.

964

:

And then there comes a

breaking point where.

965

:

Okay.

966

:

Yeah, I'm doing too much.

967

:

So what's your guys' advice?

968

:

Like how do you discern, like what

deserves a yes and what deserves a no?

969

:

Because I think in those seasons where

I'm like, I feel a little bit more chaotic

970

:

or out of control and I'm recognizing

like I'm doing too much, that's when

971

:

I recognize like the only way out is

like to start saying no to things.

972

:

And it's really hard to say

no to things and I think a lot

973

:

of women struggle with that.

974

:

Um, so.

975

:

How do you handle seasons like that?

976

:

How do you discern what gets

a yes and what gets a no?

977

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

think, um, for me it's helpful asking

978

:

like, who are those directly affected by

the chaos that's like going on in my life?

979

:

And so whether it's my husband, my

family, um, and discuss for me, like

980

:

with him as a team, JP two once said,

um, that married couples can achieve

981

:

such a union that they have one

spiritual life, which I was like, wow.

982

:

So that also means like my chaos.

983

:

Affects him as well.

984

:

And so we have to tackle it together

and then go back to like the priorities,

985

:

like, am I able to live these like guiding

principles or my priorities as well?

986

:

What's getting in the way?

987

:

I'm like, can I be more

creative about my time?

988

:

Um, so that I'm really

able to like be loving,

989

:

mari-wagner_2_04-02-2026_103752:

Beautiful.

990

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

you think of the people in your

991

:

life, , it starts to become clearer.

992

:

What truly is necessary versus what's

993

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah.

994

:

Yeah.

995

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

think is necessary, what you've

996

:

carolyn-espinoza_2_04-02-2026_113752:

Yeah.

997

:

mariana-madigan_2_04-02-2026_113752:

yourself.

998

:

and like truthfully for me,

sometimes in some seasons.

999

:

That's a lot of like asking for

help and outsourcing, , working

:

00:43:23,818 --> 00:43:25,708

and, and having a family.

:

00:43:25,768 --> 00:43:29,398

Last year when I was before my second

was born and so I was working and we

:

00:43:29,398 --> 00:43:33,488

were doing sole, , there was a lot

going on and so I would rather spend

:

00:43:33,498 --> 00:43:33,558

-:

Yeah.

:

00:43:33,608 --> 00:43:35,108

-:

time on thinking, how do I want

:

00:43:35,108 --> 00:43:36,218

things run around the house?

:

00:43:36,218 --> 00:43:38,048

Like what do I want my family to eat?

:

00:43:38,388 --> 00:43:40,248

, How do I like time with my kids?

:

00:43:40,278 --> 00:43:43,158

, I love like designing the home

and the flow of the home 'cause

:

00:43:43,158 --> 00:43:44,358

we host and things like that.

:

00:43:44,593 --> 00:43:47,803

But then somebody else can help

me with the more, like day to day.

:

00:43:48,073 --> 00:43:50,503

Um, I'll say, I guess like

more operational parts of the

:

00:43:50,503 --> 00:43:53,263

home of like, okay, my nanny

helps with the dishes and like,

:

00:43:53,598 --> 00:43:54,048

-:

:

00:43:54,178 --> 00:43:56,443

-:

Like I don't have to be doing all of

:

00:43:56,443 --> 00:43:58,213

the chores as the, as the mother, right?

:

00:43:58,213 --> 00:44:00,523

So, um, it, and it depends on the seasons.

:

00:44:00,523 --> 00:44:02,743

Right now during maternity leave,

I can take on a little more.

:

00:44:03,013 --> 00:44:06,133

, So being okay with that and being

at peace with that was huge for me.

:

00:44:06,193 --> 00:44:07,843

And, um, leaning on others.

:

00:44:08,868 --> 00:44:09,648

-:

Absolutely.

:

00:44:09,648 --> 00:44:12,888

I love your honesty in saying that,

and I think that that like needs

:

00:44:12,888 --> 00:44:16,098

to be said more like it is okay

to outsource even the home things.

:

00:44:16,098 --> 00:44:19,548

'cause I think when people hear outsource,

they think like more like work life.

:

00:44:19,548 --> 00:44:22,548

Like, okay, what am I gonna outsource

in my work life or as a business

:

00:44:22,548 --> 00:44:23,268

owner, you know, there's so.

:

00:44:23,538 --> 00:44:26,598

Much to do and outsourcing

really helps take that load off.

:

00:44:26,598 --> 00:44:30,918

But also like as a wife and mother,

you can outsource things of the home

:

00:44:30,978 --> 00:44:36,078

and not feel bad about it because it's

helping you thrive and helping you

:

00:44:36,078 --> 00:44:39,918

give more of that love and time and

energy to the people in your home.

:

00:44:39,918 --> 00:44:42,258

So definitely want women to hear that.

:

00:44:42,738 --> 00:44:46,695

Um, I was gonna ask one other

thing about what you were saying.

:

00:44:47,820 --> 00:44:48,930

Oh, I remember.

:

00:44:48,930 --> 00:44:49,770

Yes, yes.

:

00:44:49,770 --> 00:44:53,550

You were talking about sometimes like

expectations we place on ourselves, and

:

00:44:53,550 --> 00:44:57,930

I think that's a huge thing for me, and

when I actually come to recognize it,

:

00:44:57,930 --> 00:45:01,230

that gives me so much peace and freedom

because there's definitely seasons

:

00:45:01,230 --> 00:45:04,290

where I feel like, gosh, I was supposed

to do this and this and this and this.

:

00:45:04,540 --> 00:45:08,170

And if it's not there, then I,

then I'm hard on myself and Trey

:

00:45:08,170 --> 00:45:10,870

will often be like, okay, well why

did it have to get done like this?

:

00:45:10,870 --> 00:45:13,510

Or why did it have to get

done by this timeframe?

:

00:45:14,170 --> 00:45:18,520

And I'm just kind of like, well be

because I just like wanted it or just

:

00:45:18,520 --> 00:45:21,430

because I told myself it would, you know.

:

00:45:21,640 --> 00:45:24,190

And even like month away in Mexico.

:

00:45:25,770 --> 00:45:29,880

I had a such a list of like big, big

projects that I wanted to have a hundred

:

00:45:29,880 --> 00:45:31,380

percent wrapped up by the end of the day.

:

00:45:31,710 --> 00:45:35,220

And I just thought that like, because I

was gonna be away from my day to day at

:

00:45:35,220 --> 00:45:39,420

home or yeah, away from my home and my

day to day, that I would have like all

:

00:45:39,420 --> 00:45:42,240

the time in the world to just like, just

like do all of these projects and have

:

00:45:42,240 --> 00:45:43,440

them all done by the end of the month.

:

00:45:43,740 --> 00:45:46,260

And I'll say we made

great progress on them.

:

00:45:46,885 --> 00:45:47,755

They're not done.

:

00:45:47,755 --> 00:45:51,145

And by the end I was like, the last

couple days I'm like, try like, oh my

:

00:45:51,145 --> 00:45:52,375

gosh, we only have three days left.

:

00:45:52,375 --> 00:45:54,925

Like we have to do all of

these things like quickly.

:

00:45:54,925 --> 00:45:58,105

And he's like, we can either spend

the last three days like super

:

00:45:58,105 --> 00:46:02,275

stressed out trying to like check

these things off just because you

:

00:46:02,275 --> 00:46:05,845

wanted them done by March 31st, or.

:

00:46:06,105 --> 00:46:09,670

Or we could just kind of like have

some balance and check a couple things

:

00:46:09,670 --> 00:46:13,000

off and then enjoy time at the pool

and then enjoy time at the beach and

:

00:46:13,000 --> 00:46:14,860

enjoy our last couple days together.

:

00:46:15,160 --> 00:46:17,710

And then maybe we finish 'em

up in the first weeks of April

:

00:46:17,710 --> 00:46:19,570

and, and that could be okay.

:

00:46:20,050 --> 00:46:22,480

And it was just like giving

myself that permission to let

:

00:46:22,480 --> 00:46:25,240

go of Selfimposed expectation.

:

00:46:25,480 --> 00:46:28,120

That gave me the freedom to

be like, yeah, it's okay.

:

00:46:28,720 --> 00:46:30,070

Okay, we can let go.

:

00:46:31,810 --> 00:46:33,460

-:

Or just like the fact that he was trying

:

00:46:33,460 --> 00:46:37,960

to help you, like value rest I think

is so good and so healthy that like

:

00:46:38,430 --> 00:46:38,850

-:

:

00:46:38,980 --> 00:46:40,960

-:

good too for you like, and it'll help you

:

00:46:40,960 --> 00:46:44,320

be better at your work later on when you

come back and you have all those things

:

00:46:44,320 --> 00:46:47,345

you're catching up in April, like you'll

be able to have Ben like rejuvenated

:

00:46:47,815 --> 00:46:48,235

-:

:

00:46:48,370 --> 00:46:49,510

-:

of March so that you're able to

:

00:46:49,510 --> 00:46:51,100

really like tackle things in April.

:

00:46:51,220 --> 00:46:51,490

So I think

:

00:46:51,540 --> 00:46:52,440

-:

:

00:46:52,590 --> 00:46:53,190

Yeah.

:

00:46:53,760 --> 00:46:57,990

Well, so what would you guys say to

the woman who feels maybe behind and

:

00:46:57,990 --> 00:46:59,730

like she can't keep up with life?

:

00:46:59,730 --> 00:47:00,875

What is some advice you have for her?

:

00:47:02,215 --> 00:47:04,015

-:

I love, and I can't remember which St.

:

00:47:04,015 --> 00:47:04,615

Thomas it is.

:

00:47:04,615 --> 00:47:05,965

It's, I think it might be St.

:

00:47:05,965 --> 00:47:10,075

Thomas Aquinas, but he recommended a good

bath, a glass of red wine and chocolate.

:

00:47:10,465 --> 00:47:10,730

I was like,

:

00:47:10,825 --> 00:47:11,425

yes.

:

00:47:11,785 --> 00:47:13,345

Like that's so human, but

:

00:47:13,530 --> 00:47:13,990

-:

:

00:47:14,215 --> 00:47:16,105

-:

Like we need to take care of ourselves.

:

00:47:16,585 --> 00:47:18,145

Um, our health is important.

:

00:47:18,145 --> 00:47:19,555

Like, am I getting enough rest?

:

00:47:19,555 --> 00:47:21,775

And I think that's a really

good question in the beginning.

:

00:47:21,775 --> 00:47:22,885

Like, am I eating well?

:

00:47:23,245 --> 00:47:24,625

Do I have time to exercise?

:

00:47:25,035 --> 00:47:26,355

Like, if not, I need to review

:

00:47:26,490 --> 00:47:26,835

things

:

00:47:26,960 --> 00:47:27,380

-:

:

00:47:27,705 --> 00:47:29,085

-:

that first part is broken and that's

:

00:47:29,085 --> 00:47:32,715

the most immediate, that kind of,

um, we come head to head with.

:

00:47:33,580 --> 00:47:37,240

Whether it's at, I know a few,

um, mom, friends of mine go to

:

00:47:37,240 --> 00:47:40,555

the YMCA because they babysit your

kids for free while you work out.

:

00:47:40,600 --> 00:47:40,840

So I'm like,

:

00:47:40,840 --> 00:47:41,020

that's

:

00:47:41,025 --> 00:47:41,385

-:

:

00:47:41,620 --> 00:47:42,010

-:

idea.

:

00:47:42,460 --> 00:47:46,990

Um, or that we do like our rosary

while we're doing like a family walk.

:

00:47:47,020 --> 00:47:48,640

Um, so we're getting in some movement.

:

00:47:48,640 --> 00:47:49,780

We're outside of nature.

:

00:47:51,060 --> 00:47:53,970

like we were talking about before,

organizing that shopping trip with

:

00:47:53,970 --> 00:47:55,560

a friend to get in that social

:

00:47:55,890 --> 00:47:58,350

rest while you're doing something

that's actually really productive.

:

00:47:58,350 --> 00:48:01,350

because I think, I think this was

saying as Maria said, that only

:

00:48:01,350 --> 00:48:04,950

those who know how to be happy

on earth can be happy in heaven.

:

00:48:05,340 --> 00:48:09,450

And so when we feel behind and when

we can't keep up with life, we're just

:

00:48:09,450 --> 00:48:15,060

like sad and frustrated and anxious,

um, and we have to like rediscover.

:

00:48:15,370 --> 00:48:17,200

This like real joy in the ordinary.

:

00:48:17,260 --> 00:48:20,530

But if obviously we're mentally,

physically, emotionally overwhelmed

:

00:48:21,340 --> 00:48:24,100

committed too much, like we need

to stop and like ask for help.

:

00:48:24,513 --> 00:48:26,643

alternatively it could be that

we're putting burdens, like you

:

00:48:26,643 --> 00:48:29,523

were saying, mari on us, that maybe

aren't actually healthy for us

:

00:48:29,523 --> 00:48:31,533

or are not meant for us to carry.

:

00:48:32,153 --> 00:48:35,333

and so really thinking Instead of like

working on trying to keep up with this

:

00:48:35,333 --> 00:48:37,883

idea, I have them myself or with others.

:

00:48:38,183 --> 00:48:41,723

Um, what are the gifts that I have and how

does God want me to give back those gifts?

:

00:48:41,723 --> 00:48:43,913

And am I using them on a consistent basis?

:

00:48:43,913 --> 00:48:46,133

Because that also like

brings us energy and joy.

:

00:48:46,613 --> 00:48:48,533

Um, and then I totally recommend.

:

00:48:49,013 --> 00:48:51,443

This masterclass by Kevin Majors.

:

00:48:51,443 --> 00:48:54,053

So again, he's the one

who started optimal work.

:

00:48:54,473 --> 00:48:58,643

Um, professor at Harvard has his

own practice, but he has one on

:

00:48:58,643 --> 00:49:02,483

anxiety and it's like, what's going

on physically in our brain and how

:

00:49:02,483 --> 00:49:05,963

can we counteract those like chemical

reactions that are happening so we can

:

00:49:05,963 --> 00:49:10,103

really be present, um, and at peace

about what we're, what we have at hand.

:

00:49:10,403 --> 00:49:11,063

-:

That's so great.

:

00:49:11,063 --> 00:49:12,353

Are you able to send me those links?

:

00:49:12,353 --> 00:49:14,093

We can throw 'em in the show notes.

:

00:49:14,453 --> 00:49:15,248

That way people can,

:

00:49:15,383 --> 00:49:15,713

-:

Totally.

:

00:49:16,433 --> 00:49:16,923

-:

can access those resources.

:

00:49:16,973 --> 00:49:17,603

-:

have a link with a

:

00:49:17,633 --> 00:49:17,873

-:

Yeah,

:

00:49:17,993 --> 00:49:19,368

-:

too, so we'll share that one with you for

:

00:49:19,463 --> 00:49:19,973

-:

that's true.

:

00:49:20,408 --> 00:49:20,898

-:

:

00:49:20,998 --> 00:49:21,293

That's.

:

00:49:21,593 --> 00:49:21,953

-:

perk,

:

00:49:22,783 --> 00:49:23,113

-:

:

00:49:23,743 --> 00:49:24,493

Incredible.

:

00:49:25,813 --> 00:49:26,203

Awesome.

:

00:49:26,203 --> 00:49:29,413

Well, if we wanna get really practical

to wrap up here, what are two to

:

00:49:29,413 --> 00:49:34,153

three things that people can implement

or changes that women can make to

:

00:49:34,153 --> 00:49:38,713

make this week immediately feel more

organized and at peace, let say.

:

00:49:38,778 --> 00:49:40,613

-:

I would say wake up at a set time.

:

00:49:40,703 --> 00:49:41,873

Go to bed on time.

:

00:49:42,788 --> 00:49:46,808

your top three priorities for the week,

and then inspect what you expected of

:

00:49:46,808 --> 00:49:50,648

yourself at the end of the week, and

then institute at least 10 minutes of

:

00:49:50,648 --> 00:49:52,058

silent prayer to start your morning.

:

00:49:52,058 --> 00:49:54,608

And I would say five of those

minutes in total silence.

:

00:49:54,608 --> 00:49:58,328

So it's actually a dialogue and

not just us monologuing on all

:

00:49:58,328 --> 00:50:00,368

that we have in our mind and heart.

:

00:50:00,571 --> 00:50:02,401

-:

I agree with everything Carolyn said,

:

00:50:02,401 --> 00:50:05,521

and I always like to also throw in like

doing something fun so that whether it's

:

00:50:05,521 --> 00:50:09,301

like a date night or scheduling something

with friends or just remembering that

:

00:50:09,301 --> 00:50:12,421

like God wants us to have joy and have

fun through all of these responsibilities

:

00:50:12,421 --> 00:50:16,261

too, like work is good, work is beautiful,

and it gets us closer to heaven.

:

00:50:16,261 --> 00:50:19,411

It's not this like chore and

then we have time with family or

:

00:50:19,411 --> 00:50:20,791

have time fun on the weekends.

:

00:50:21,121 --> 00:50:23,791

Um, so scheduling that time for

fun to remind yourself of that

:

00:50:24,391 --> 00:50:25,021

-:

Beautiful.

:

00:50:25,021 --> 00:50:25,741

I love that.

:

00:50:25,741 --> 00:50:28,801

Thank you so much ladies, for

sharing all that advice and

:

00:50:28,801 --> 00:50:30,871

wisdom and practical steps.

:

00:50:31,141 --> 00:50:34,621

Um, can you tell us where can

people learn more about Soleil?

:

00:50:34,801 --> 00:50:37,681

Where can we buy your planners

and where can we find you guys?

:

00:50:38,111 --> 00:50:39,161

-:

So we're online.

:

00:50:39,161 --> 00:50:44,141

So our website is um, sole, atelier.com.

:

00:50:44,141 --> 00:50:48,221

And then we also have a presence

on Instagram, sole atelier, LLC,

:

00:50:48,581 --> 00:50:51,521

and then we're also on LinkedIn

for those professional connections.

:

00:50:52,592 --> 00:50:55,232

-:

currently our planners are on sale for 25%

:

00:50:55,232 --> 00:50:56,822

off, so now's a great time to snag one.

:

00:50:57,122 --> 00:51:00,062

In addition to, we have a, a

notepad as well that goes with it.

:

00:51:00,062 --> 00:51:02,642

For those of you that love to like

break things down in a lot of detail

:

00:51:02,642 --> 00:51:05,612

or like by the hour, um, both of

those are available on our website.

:

00:51:05,818 --> 00:51:06,178

-:

:

00:51:06,418 --> 00:51:07,108

Awesome.

:

00:51:07,108 --> 00:51:10,528

Well make sure to send people

their way and put all your

:

00:51:10,528 --> 00:51:11,848

guys' links in the show notes.

:

00:51:11,848 --> 00:51:13,408

Thanks so much for coming on today.

:

00:51:14,668 --> 00:51:15,288

-:

Thanks for your time.

:

00:51:15,588 --> 00:51:15,843

-:

is great.

:

00:51:16,657 --> 00:51:17,197

-:

All right.

:

00:51:17,197 --> 00:51:21,037

Getting into our ever be

answers for today, we have

:

00:51:21,307 --> 00:51:23,017

Struggling with Scrupulosity.

:

00:51:23,077 --> 00:51:26,677

What are your tips on focusing

on love for God instead of fear?

:

00:51:27,247 --> 00:51:29,587

And will you do a pantry tour?

:

00:51:29,587 --> 00:51:33,037

So I'll answer the first about

scrupulosity here, and then I think

:

00:51:33,037 --> 00:51:37,387

for the after party we'll just do a

fun little segment of an actual video

:

00:51:37,387 --> 00:51:40,627

tour of the pantry tour and we'll break

it all down for you guys 'cause it's

:

00:51:40,627 --> 00:51:43,747

definitely one of my favorite additions

of our home that we did last year.

:

00:51:44,227 --> 00:51:46,897

But let's kick it off with

struggling with Scrupulosity.

:

00:51:47,002 --> 00:51:50,362

Any tips on focusing on

God's love instead of fear?

:

00:51:50,752 --> 00:51:55,042

And I think the biggest thing that I

just wanna drive home with this today is

:

00:51:55,552 --> 00:51:59,122

the Lord welcomes our weakness,

and I think a lot of the times we

:

00:51:59,122 --> 00:52:02,722

are so much harder on ourselves

than the Lord is on ourselves.

:

00:52:03,172 --> 00:52:07,012

And if you go back to

scripture time and time again.

:

00:52:07,672 --> 00:52:12,592

The Lord is drawn to the sinners

because he wants to give them mercy

:

00:52:12,592 --> 00:52:14,632

and love and draw them closer to him.

:

00:52:14,872 --> 00:52:20,002

Nobody is too far away or too

sinful or whatever, too much

:

00:52:20,002 --> 00:52:21,472

for the Lord to reach them.

:

00:52:22,192 --> 00:52:25,402

And we see this all the time, um, in St.

:

00:52:25,702 --> 00:52:26,272

Fina's diary.

:

00:52:26,272 --> 00:52:28,972

I've probably said this before

on a podcast, but in St.

:

00:52:28,972 --> 00:52:32,722

Fina's diary, Jesus tells her

that he is the closest to us.

:

00:52:33,067 --> 00:52:38,377

When we are in our deepest suffering or in

our greatest need, or he loves the souls

:

00:52:38,407 --> 00:52:42,247

that call to him in need all the time

because they recognize their sinfulness,

:

00:52:42,247 --> 00:52:44,107

because they recognize their weakness.

:

00:52:44,647 --> 00:52:48,230

And then even this morning as I was

praying, I was praying with, um, the God.

:

00:52:48,420 --> 00:52:56,030

Full account where the woman, breaks the

jar of oil on Jesus's head and feet, and

:

00:52:56,030 --> 00:53:00,830

there's a pharisee that is watching this

interaction happen and he whispers when.

:

00:53:00,920 --> 00:53:04,460

The apostles, like, doesn't he

know how sinful this woman is?

:

00:53:04,460 --> 00:53:08,210

If he did, if he was really a prophet,

he wouldn't let her be touching him.

:

00:53:08,540 --> 00:53:13,310

And Jesus, right, his, his heart is

moved and he speaks directly to him and

:

00:53:13,310 --> 00:53:19,100

he asks which of the two, if there's

two men with debts, one has a debt of,

:

00:53:19,490 --> 00:53:24,920

I don't remember the numbers, 200 Ari

and the other one has a debt of 500,

:

00:53:25,280 --> 00:53:28,100

and the master forgives both debts.

:

00:53:28,150 --> 00:53:31,570

Which, which of the two has the

most love for their masters?

:

00:53:31,570 --> 00:53:32,350

Something like that.

:

00:53:32,710 --> 00:53:35,950

And obviously the answer is the

one who was forgiven the most.

:

00:53:36,310 --> 00:53:40,060

And so then Jesus turns to her and says,

your sins have been forgiven ' cause

:

00:53:40,060 --> 00:53:41,710

of the love that you have shown me.

:

00:53:42,070 --> 00:53:46,540

And she approached the Lord with

love, not fear, despite whatever

:

00:53:46,540 --> 00:53:50,680

sinfulness as she has in her life

or in her past, and the Lord.

:

00:53:50,755 --> 00:53:52,555

Filter with his love and mercy.

:

00:53:52,615 --> 00:53:57,355

And so my tips are, go to the gospels,

find those kind of accounts where the Lord

:

00:53:57,355 --> 00:54:02,155

draws close to sinners and pours out his

love and mercy for them because that's us.

:

00:54:02,215 --> 00:54:05,845

That is, that's a representation of

who we are and how we should be drawing

:

00:54:05,845 --> 00:54:10,915

close to the Lord, and that shows how

he wants to love us and fill us and

:

00:54:10,915 --> 00:54:15,055

forgive us, and never turns away from

us no matter what our past is like,

:

00:54:15,055 --> 00:54:18,685

no matter what our present is like, no

matter the ways that we have failed him.

:

00:54:18,805 --> 00:54:19,765

Um, so.

:

00:54:20,545 --> 00:54:26,965

Really learning about the grandeur and

abundance of his love hopefully will

:

00:54:26,965 --> 00:54:31,700

help kind of counteract that scrupulosity

and fear 'cause that scrupulosity

:

00:54:31,700 --> 00:54:33,560

is largely placed on ourselves.

:

00:54:33,590 --> 00:54:35,180

It's not placed there by the Lord.

:

00:54:35,517 --> 00:54:36,717

Alright, that's all for today.

:

00:54:36,717 --> 00:54:41,367

If you wanna catch a fun video tour of our

pantry, we will see you at the after party

:

00:54:41,417 --> 00:54:43,367

that our Kingdom Club gets access to.

:

00:54:43,742 --> 00:54:46,922

And to join that, you can just click the

link in the show notes to our Patreon.

:

00:54:46,922 --> 00:54:47,852

See you guys next week
